An animal hospital has invested in a computer-controlled oxygen intensive care unit (ICU) for their kennels.
Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists (SCVS) based in Ringwood, Hampshire, said the new unit ensures a fast oxygen supply is available to its critical care patients through a computer-controlled system in combination with sealed cages.
Air temperature is automatically cooled with humidity control, CO2 extraction and floor heating, as well as integrated sensors.
Features
Features include:
- automated CO2 absorption
- opening for infusions and cables
- sealed doors
- two separate heated floors with overheat protection
- touch control options for oxygen, lighting and floor temperature
- smooth edges and surfaces
- dimmable LED light with day and night mode
- climate control including cooling and dehumidification
German made
The ICU is provided by German company IntensoVet, with one of its employees having flown in from Germany to make sure it was installed correctly.
Everything was measured beforehand so it could be specifically designed for SCVS.
