Crèche facilities will be available at BEVA Congress for the first time this year.
The move means the profession’s working mums and dads can attend Europe’s biggest equine conference without having to make separate plans for childcare at home.
With this year’s theme focusing on helping horse vets celebrate the many benefits and pleasures of their job, event organisers hope the provision of a crèche will be just one of the ways to keep delegates smiling.
‘Popular’
BEVA president Jon Pycock said: “A significant number of BEVA members have young children, and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to enjoy congress without having to worry about making separate plans for childcare at home.
“We have already had a great response to the idea and it’s looking like the crèche is going to be very popular.”
The childcare facility – available for children up to the age of 8 – is, the organisation said, another exemplar of the parental support it provides.
BEVA launched MumsVet in 2016 – an online resource providing support for veterinary professionals juggling working life and parenthood.
